Corn maiden XxL earrings
Corn maiden XxL earrings
The Corn Maiden XXL earrings take inspiration from Navajo rug designs, sand paintings, contemporary art, and jewelry, rather than the traditional “Yei Bi Chei” to craft a bold, modern aesthetic. At an impressive 8 inches tall and 3 inches wide, they feature the corn maiden balancing feathers, symbolizing prayers rising and falling, as well as harmony and beauty.
Ideal for graduations, pageants, or weddings, these statement pieces are not intended for everyday wear due to their delicate craftsmanship. They feature intricate laser-cut designs, a 21 mm angled earwire for balance, and silicone bubbles for enhanced comfort and security. Each pair is packaged in a clear sleeve with a cardstock backing.
Care instructions: Acrylic is prone to scratching, so store the earrings in a dedicated space or on a necklace stand. Avoid wearing them while bathing or showering, and keep them away from chemicals, perfume, jewelry cleaners, or aerosol products. Clean only the acrylic with water and mild soap.
A blue protective plastic film remains on the back; it can be removed carefully or left in place. Do not peel off the iridescent layer.
Note: Jump rings and fishhooks are nickel-free but not genuine gold or silver.
Context: The Yei Bi Chei is a revered spiritual figure in Navajo tradition, depicted in jewelry, textiles, and ceremonial art. Earrings inspired by this figure are commonly crafted by Navajo, Zuni, or other Pueblo silversmiths using materials such as sterling silver, turquoise, coral, and various stones, carrying significant cultural and spiritual meaning and often associated with healing ceremonies.
These earrings may be worn by individuals from any cultural background, provided they align with personal style and respect the cultural significance. There are no strict guidelines on who can wear them.
